Good days...bad days.

I had a very rough workout today. Actually, it was a tough weekend. I had a flat yesterday right before the 2nd loop on the Autobahn which sorta threw me off track. I was having a really great workout up to that point. Since it took a bit to get the tire changed I missed the 2nd 5K run. Also....why is it always the back tire that goes flat, seriously?

Well it was Erin and Kris' birthday so we all had breakfast together after the brick. Wiley even made an appearance and was bearing gifts for the birthday ladies. I learned something new about my friend Erin. She collects finger puppets. LOVE IT!!! wiley gave her 3 very cool puppets to add to her collection. Te food hit the spot and the mimosas were heaven.

Today we rode 40 miles. It took me about 2:45 to complete the ride. I had no steam today. I am really slow on the bike to begin with but today was ridiculous. I know that I just did not eat enough last night to start the morning. I did have a breakfast snack but I think going into the with not a full tank made for a tough one. It was really hot but I managed to finish. Thanks to Dave, Gina, Vivek, Dana, Scott, Arturo & Carolyn who would wait for me to catch up at several points. That was really nice of them especially where the 2 dogs were that were nippers. I was glad that I made it out despite the ride. I almost stayed home since I failed to patch my tube and did not have another spare AND my pump broke yesterday too. I am happy that I finished...."they can't all be winners kid. "

So with that done I look forward to the next week. I have one more week off of swimming. I am actually excited to get back in the pool soon to work on my swimming. My shoulder is feeling much better thanks to my acupuncturist and the PT exercises. It is also the last week at the job I have had for 8.5 years. I start my new job on the 12th. I think a HH is in order very soon. Any one care to join me?

Sometimes it's about persistence, and that's all that matters. Good job, Michelle! :)

There was a pretty strong headwind during the 40 miles at various points. I kept getting dropped from my group and rode by myself quite a bit. I have to believe we're getting stronger and faster every time we ride. Congrats again on the new job!
